Rising Together.

Empowering Families.

Transforming Communities.

The Why

Families navigating the complexities of trauma and disabilities often feel alone, overwhelmed, and without a clear path forward. They struggle in systems that weren’t built for them, perpetuating isolation and withdrawal.

We exist to change that.

The Phoenix Collaborative was created to provide real, tangible support — offering education, tools, and a community which genuinely understands — but we don’t do this work alone. By partnering with existing organizations, we strive to create inclusive spaces for families in our community, ensuring they have access to the resources, relationships, and environments needed to thrive.

Through collective change, we can build a stronger, more supportive world — together.

The How

Our services represent a comprehensive, trauma-informed model of care that surrounds children and their caregivers with a network of support. This approach emphasizes the importance of strengthening family connections as the foundation for healing. This family-centered model recognizes that strong families are the cornerstone of thriving communities. By supporting families, we can promote healing that extends beyond the home, creating a ripple effect of resilience and transformation throughout the entire community.

What People Are Saying

  • Gemma Furman

"Bettina is the kind of support every family dreams of having during hard times. She truly sees us, listens without judgment, and knows when to comfort and when to gently nudge us toward the next step. There’s no script or one-size-fits-all approach with her—she brings her heart and her wisdom to every conversation, helping my husband and me feel less isolated and more empowered.”

Parent to a neurodiverse child

  • Maria Rolph

“This training challenged my assumptions of traditional "good enough" parenting and grinds them to a halt. Understanding trauma and its effects on a small child's brain, and knowing TBRI strategies and being able to use them in tricky moments, helps a child from hard places feel safe, known, and appreciated for who they are.”

Kinship Parent

  • Lexi Tew

“You have helped my family and many others break the cycle of generational trauma to an extent that you and I will never fully understand.”

Foster & Adoptive Parent

  • Kelly Altizer

“I have reflected many times about how much harder and lonelier this journey would be without the amazing community that Bettina created. She is truly such a force for good, and I know we are just one family of many whose lives she has changed for the better.”

Parent to a child with disabilities

  • Kara Kavanagh

“All the times I felt seen, understood, and cared for even when I was at my lowest or most vulnerable.”
